Cheltenham Day 2

Day one of the festival and it was certainly a day of thrills and spills yesterday. The first race was no exception but what a finished between Abracadabra’s and Shishkin. I was delighted for Barry Geraghty in the champion hurdle as he has had a tough time of it with injuries in recent years, so no one more deserved it than him.

Then the mare’s hurdle with that special Cheltenham roar from the crowd as Rachael Blackmore walked back into the winner’s enclosure never gets old.

Day two of the festival and there has not been any rain so I can imagine the ground drying up a little as this place can do, again the first race is intriguing with the first four in the betting very smart horses and it could be a great day for Irish trained horses as they head the betting in most of the races. Let’s hope we are cheering Tiger Roll back in after the cross country.
